This is a challenge I posted on Facebook, asking people to state how they would rule if they were the judge:
A Challenge: You Be The judge:
You committed a crime and had to go to prison for ten years. Your house in Maine was paid for because you inherited it from your parents. So you had your house in Maine winterized and shuttered, paid the taxes in advance, and went to live out your sentence. Then you came back to Maine and found someone living in your house. You go to the judge and the judge rules that you were gone for a long time, so these people took over your house therefore they should be able to stay.
You appeal the decision to the highest court.
If you were the judge, how would you rule?
